MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of ushers is to greet, assist, and serve the worshipping community of St. Benedict with joy, dependability, kindness, and reverence.

Ushers serve on weekends at: the 5:00 PM Saturday Vigil Mass, the 8:00 AM, 9:30 AM, and 11:30 AM Masses on Sunday. Additionally, they serve all Masses on special Feast days, Solemnity’s, Holy Days of Obligation, and Holy Week
Masses during the year. There is usually yearly training and OJT when you first start. You will be assigned a mentor.

An usher serves the Parish with the warmth and welcome of Christ Himself; always conscious of Christ’s words: “For I was … a stranger and you welcomed me.”

Ushers are expected to arrive 15 minutes before Mass to seat the people and possibly hand out the bulletin, stay the entire Mass to distribute and collect the offering baskets, do any clean-up in the pews (remove bulletins, straighten missals, and fill envelopes/pencils in their section, etc.).

There are times when the youth serve Mass, including the Usher position. To work with the youth, you will need to pick up a Safe Haven packet from the church office.
