MISSION STATEMENT
Inspired by Gospel values, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, a Catholic lay organization,
leads men and women to join together to grow spiritually in the tradition of its founders,
by offering person-to-person service to those who are suffering and in financial need.

The Conference meets in the evening every second Tuesday of the month in church.

The Conference provides financial and other assistance to our neighbors in need. Most of the assistance goes toward utilities, rent and mortgages. Our service territory includes Mt. Pleasant, north of Six Mile Road; Awendaw; McClellanville; and Huger, east of Hwy 41.

Time commitment varies depending on the function of the member. Those who handle Helpline for a week do so approximately once every six weeks. Those who make home visits are needed once a week to once a month depending on the time of the year and how many calls we receive.

The only requirement for membership is a willingness to grow in spirituality and serve the poor in the community. Non-Catholics are welcome to join but they have no vote in Conference matters nor can they serve as officers.
