  MISSION STATEMENT
The role of the lector is to tell the story of our Faith, to remind us of
who we are in relationship to each other and to God. “Christ is present
in His word since it is He Himself who speaks when the
Holy Scriptures are read in Church.”

“Remembering the history of God’s goodness to God’s people establishes the foundation from which we proceed to the Eucharistic or “thanksgiving” part of the liturgy”. As we learn and remember what God has done for us, we are moved to a sense of gratitude that we express in the Eucharist.  The readings in the Liturgy of the Word must be proclaimed in a manner that elicits the response of praise and thanksgiving that is manifest in the Liturgy of the Eucharist.

The lector ministry meets on an as needed basis. Each new lector meets with the Leader for training and instructions.

Each lector is usually assigned to read twice during the current schedule.  Mass assignments are based upon the lector’s profile on the scheduling program.

To work with the youth, you will need to pick up a Safe Haven packet from the church office.
