A Call to Stewardship

St. Benedict Parish has been built upon stewardship and a passion to build an inclusive community where everyone is welcome and needed to form the Church.  But what exactly is Catholic stewardship?  It is a spirituality, hence a way of living, involving four basic parts: receiving God’s gifts with gratitude, cultivating them responsibly, sharing them lovingly with others and standing before God in a spirit of accountability.

Living this kind of life begins with prayer.  Prayer that opens our hearts to all the gifts that God has given us.  Prayer that let’s us honestly assess how we do and can share these gifts.  Prayer that leads us to a God centered life and enhanced relationships with one another.  We are all at different points on this journey.  We each have different talents and varying abilities to share our time and treasure.  But we are all called to do so.  And not just from our excesses.  This requires our faith and trust in God’s plans for our lives.  This makes us Disciples of Christ.

So many members of St. Benedict have responded to this call and share their time and talent to carry out the Church’s mission here in our community.  Here are just a few of their stories and perspectives.
